Magnetic Tip:
The magnetic tip is designed to adhere to the car’s metal body, allowing the tester to accurately measure paint thickness. The magnet ensures the tool stays in place and helps with a steady reading.
Detecting Filler or Putty:
In areas where filler (like Bondo) has been used for body repairs, the paint thickness can be much higher than normal. This can be detected using the pen tester, as it will show the difference between paint layers and filler.

Different Color Shows:
-Blue Color: coating with a thickness of 0.0 to 100 microns - a thin coat of varnish (varnish without foundation or repeatedly polished)
-Green Color: coating with a thickness of 100 to 200 microns for original varnishes. Warning; in newer cars, 180 micron thickness may indicate a thin layer of the second varnish.
-Yellow Color: coating with a thickness of 200 to 300 microns - after painting repairs ("second varnish").
-Red Color: coating with a thickness of 300 to 520 microns - surface after sheet metal repairs + a second varnish.
-Black Color: coating with a thickness of over 520 - surface putty and varnished (the amount of putty about 0.5 mm).
